Friday Forum Mini Spring Show 2016

Friday Forum Mini Spring Show 2016
John Freer and Graham Wheatley judged this event which received many entries for each category except for one; the tulips.

Members enjoyed viewing the entries and the winners were applauded.
Talk from John (Mr Daffodil) Freer

John gave us invaluable tips on growing and showing daffodils as well as other ideas for gardening.  Tips included ensuring the pot is in proportion to the plant it contains, keeping it clean on the outside and topped with fresh compost or gravel.  Writing the name of the plant on the card goes down well with the judges and the wording of the categories should be read carefully.
He recommends the daffodil St Keverne as a good, disease resistant flower which doesn’t require staking.
